Well despite repeated requests and guarantees sun screen was applied, we learnd the technique of spray sunscreen is beyond the 18 year old mind. We have a few boys with rather funny sun burn marks. No one has a full sunburn. Just a shoulder, striped back, sides, bicep, forehead, back of neck type of are you kidding me type of burns. None of the boys will suffer to badly with our 50 spf and a t-shirt / hat on today.

Brendan Graff is our best example of the sunscreen use this morning. Just one of several exmples. SPF 50 for B and others all today on their arms, faces, back, feet, etc.
We did learn this morning at breakfast that some of the boys got ice cream before bedtime (brought back some for those who did not venture out) after the hot tub last night. Suffice it to say they all crashed and slept till 9:30 this morning. We saw them for a late breakfast and now the energy level is coming back. Some very sore muscles along with the burns.
Mom's, the rooms this morning were to say, boy's rooms. The maids are giving them clean towels and making the beds. I'm making them take the trash out and clean up a bit. Boys!!!
Janie has them all lathered with aloe and sunscreen to start the day. Its like a first aid camp in the room with Janie in charge. They are all lined up comparing burns, laughing and gasping with the cold gel and sunscreen. Quite the sight.
Janie and Haley went shopping and found a couple of cute things to buy while Drake and Jeff headed for the beach. The boys showed up a little later for volleyball.
Later Jeff joined the boys in their volleyball game. The two OP Blue Valley HS girls were already joining in the game. Janie caught the gang between games for a picture.
After the volleyball everyone headed to the water to cool off. Now I mean cool off...the water is somewhere in the 60 degree area.

Hey guys, all the other guys and girls are in the water. Should we join them? Sure seems pretty cold? What about sharks?

OK, everyone is in and Logan thinks he might take his big brother down for the count. Suffice it to say some swam out to get to the other sandbar, some came out and Logan / Drake ended up in the water in headlocks.

See mom and dad...we are ok, just don't look at my back side. Ok, I'm blotchy all over, but I'm wearing 50 SPF today!

Frank was definitely a close funner up for wild streaks of sunburn, so came by for a round of SPF 50 sunscreen to keep his goove. He and Brendan played more volleyball with some other kids, while the other boys played bean bag throw or football toss. Frank's streaks were down the back of his arms and legs.
Some of the boys passed the football, others played bean bag toss and others hung out. In the end, they got hungry and off to Tucan's for lunch (late) and watched basketball. Not totally sure where they ended up for dinner, but it was about a mile south and pizza. A place Kyle recommended and they were back to the hotel by 10:15. Hmmm....theme brewing getting in earlier and earlier. Tomorrow sunburn maintenance today and actual sleep should enable them to have another big day like the first. Well see.
Janie and Jeff were able to get a date night in at the same Italian restaurant "Forlini's" Haley and Drake went to last night. Appetizer of Bree cheese in a pastry with rasberry drizzle. Oh My!!! Afterward they grabbed Haley and Drake (who had pizza for dinner) for a run up the street for ice cream. As noted the boys were not far behind arrivnig at the hotel tonight. Looking forward to tomorrow.
Day 3 coming to a close.......
