Day 2 started for Jeff with this view from the balcony of the room. Actually 8:30 a.m. believe it or not. What a wonderful view. Not that any of the boys saw it. By 9:30 we were off to our breakfast buffet, and the boys were all at their table with large plates of food. So maybe a few were up earlier then we thought.
Thank you Janie for negotiating a buffet every morning for each of the boys. She leveraged the fact it took so long for to get the rooms ready. The boys had their
plates piled high with bacon, sausage and everything else except pancakes that
they were disappointed not having, poor boys!!!! They could have gone across the street where we ate lunch yesterday for a $3.99 breakfast special. We may have to try that once,
while we are here. Ok, the buffet is
pretty darn good and convenient….going to be hard to walk across the street and
pay for breakfast any time soon.
Day 2 actually started a little after midnight last night when we had a knock on the door. Frank had a cut on his foot from the beach. Probalby a shell when running in the sand. Octo Mom cleaned it up and called for a bandaid from the front desk. When we got back from the CVS trip Janie helped him tape it up. Not a big cut, but thought best to keep the sand out fo the day.
After breakfast we walked up to CVS to get (first aid noted above) water, soda and a few snacks
for the boys rooms, while Drake and Haley headed to get us a spot on the beach.
Janie and Jeff came down to the beach around 11:30
a.m. and the boys were already engaged in a volleyball game. We found Drake and Haley with four chairs and
a nice cabana waiting for us. It was about
as perfect as it can get….ok perfect no way to improve.
The boys played volleyball from 11:00 am until 4:30 with a
brief stop for a quick dip in the ocean and quick trip over to Subway for
lunch. Well, everyone except John and we
have no idea if he ate something or not.
Two (college) girls asked if they could join in on the game. Then a couple of guys also asked to
join trying to cut in on the boys action. Later in the day after the extras left
another two girls asked to play. These two turned
out to be the girl(s) on the plane down from KC. The one signed John's Birthday shirt. We can’t wait to see if any of them can walk
tomorrow. However Octo Mom below watching over the game from the sand dune as she took a call. You can tell she runs a tight ship.

Before lunch half of them came down to the water to cool off. The water is not warm yet, so quite fun to see their faces when they pop up from getting more then their legs wet.
The brave five who took the first plunge into the water.....
Volleyball was a huge part of the day. Diving, leaping, running, pausing to brush off some sand or talk to the female team members was all apart of the games.

Today is Drake and Haley’s one year anniversary dating, so
they wanted to get some pictures before going out for a dinner at Forlini’s
(Italian). Logan joined so we were able
to get some family pictures on the beach and pier. Then they headed off for dinner while we
headed back to catch up with the boys. Drake and Haley on the balcony before Clemow family picture time.
Picture speaks for itself.....boys are still at the hotel vegging and getting their handsome on.

The boys planning dinner....Janie and Jeff are just finishing up their happy hour refreshments.
The original plan was to walk north to Frenchy’s Rock Away to eat and
listen to live music. The restaurant sits right on the water. Calling ahead we learned there would be a one and a half hour
wait, so we decided to go to Frenchy’s Saltwater café. The boys headed over to get seats as we finished our drink. We then went to Frenchy’s Café (original
restaurant) and of course learned the boys were seated at the other
location, Frenchy's Salt Water Cafe. There are four Frenchy’s in
the area. After catching up, everyone enjoyed some type of
seafood for dinner.
Janie and Jeff grabbed some ice cream on the way back to the hotel. Basically the end of the day for the chaperones--well not for Octo Mom, but I’m sure there is another evening of hot tub in the works. The boys enjoyed the hot tub last night we learned and seemed eager to repeat. While watching the KSU vs. OSU game the boys made it back to the rooms (11:15). Not as much energy tonight!!!

My goofy son has a small first aid kit in his luggage! Barb
